Difference in Incontinence in Men and Women

by admin on Mar.15, 2010, under Fitness, Health, Men, Women

Both Men and Women suffer from incontinence.  However, incontinence is more common in women than in men.  The causes of incontinence can be gender specific.  But whatever is the case, incontinence is a condition which can be cured or managed effectively with a physician’s help.

Incontinence in women is caused often by pregnancy and the stress involved with childbirth.  When a woman is pregnant, fetus may place undo pressure on the woman’s bladder which results in stress incontinence.  This may cause a leakage from any additional small stress that is placed on the woman’s bladder such as coughing, laughing or straining when she is trying to pick up objects.

Childbirth may also cause damage to the woman’s bladder or it may stretch out the muscles on the pelvic floor to the point where the control of urethra is becoming difficult if not impossible.  The damage many times goes unnoticed and it does not occur for several years after giving birth.

Do Collagen Pills Help Skin?

by admin on Feb.20, 2010, under Beauty, Body, Face, Self Improvement, Treatment, Trends, Women

This is a common question to most women.  To be able to answer this question, we first need to know what the exact elements in our skin are.  Elastin and Collagen are like springs in bed that are rather wiry fibers and mostly made of protein and are important for keeping our skin supple and smooth.

Taking Collagen pills aimed at building collagen can actually help with arthritis pain but now with skincare.  As we are ageing, the Collagen supply in our body is declining.  These make up partially the cartilage which acts as a shock absorber.  As it wears down, this result in painful joints or arthritis.  But why not with skincare?

The bad news is that the collagen type that are present in these pills are the artificial collagen and not like our own supply of collagen.  These are sometimes taken from cows, pigs or sea bed.  Although it may do some good, the amount that is actually going on our skin is minimal and enough just to be used for supporting our vital organs.

by admin on Feb.15, 2010, under Beauty, Face, Self Improvement, Treatment, Women

The first step to be able to rebuild the collagen in the sin underneath our eyes is to understand that the skin below our eyes is very sensitive.  We need to take care of it and we can’t just use any products or moisturizer for it.

One of the most important steps is usually the ones that people mostly ignore.  Toxins and stress are the main causes of eye bags and dark circles around the eyes.  One needs to relax his eyes after a long day of work.  Cut slices of cucumber and place them on closed eyes.  It will suck all the stress on your eyes.  It produces natural collagen and delivers the right nutrients to your skin.  To nourish your skin, use tea bags that are soaked in ice-cold water.  Tea is also an antioxidant.  It will reduce the oxidation and the free radical activities of the cells which increases the production of natural collagen.

The Best Facial Treatment at Home

by admin on Jan.02, 2010, under Beauty, Health, House & Home, Personal, Self Improvement, Treatment, Women

Facials at home may include treatments for sensitive skin with the use of mild products such as Aloe Vera and honey.  There are also some fruit and vegetable extracts, dry fruits like apricot and milk and cream which you can use for home facials. Since the time of Cleopatra, all these have been the most effective ingredients for facial treatments.  Hone, for example, is known for its natural humectants properties.  It helps retain the moisture and helps keep the skin hydrated.  Lemon juice is great for those who have oily skin to balance their hydration.

Start off your home facial by rinsing well your skin with the use of a facial wash.  You can use a face wash with exfoliation or a deep pore cleansing cream or milk.  For natural effect, just use raw milk to wipe of the face.

Use a base product like Aloe Vera, honey, fresh fruit juice or aromatic oils to nourish and moisturize your skin.  Massage your skin using any of these facial treatments.  Massage in a rotating motion so you can get the most effective impact on your skin and lie down while you are pursuing the ordeal.  You can ask help from your friend for the massage.  The hand’s motion should be upward and it massage should last for 20 minutes.

Take some stumped or powdered apricot or walnut and massage on face for exfoliation.  This should get rid of the black heads and the dead cells.  Wash your face after scrubbing and wipe.  Apply firming mask using a tablespoon of honey mixed with one egg white and one teaspoon of glycerin.  Let this dry and wash off later.
